One look in
the mirror tells us we are unlike anyone else in the whole world. Some of
us are tall and others short; some have blue eyes and others brown; some
have curly hair and others straight; some are light-skinned and others
dark. but, it's not just what we look like that makes us unique. It's our
personal identity that sets us apart from anyone else.
When times are tough and things don't go as we planned, knowing our true
self can get awfully confusing. but it is in these times when it is most
important to understand who
we really are and to realize all the characteristics that makes us
special.
What comes
to mind for you? Maybe it's your honesty, your sense of humor or your
athletic skills. Perhaps it's your kindness or your brain-power. Some of
these might be part of your personal identity , and it is in our personal
identity that we find our greatest strengths. It
is also in our personal identity that we find the courage to realize our
weaknesses. We must be brave enough to know when we need help and smart enough
to know where to find it.

 DO
YOU KNOW ANY..."INACTIVE" OR "ALIENATED CATHOLICS"?
Whatever
you may call them, these are people who were baptized Catholic -- but they
aren't active in the church anymore. Maybe it's because of a
marriage problem or some other difficulty. Maybe they do not have
any particular issue -- maybe they've just drifted away.
We are asking you to help us to welcome
them home.
Our parish is reaching
out to these members of our Catholic family. We want to tell them
what the church can offer them. We want to let them know we miss
them. Most important, we want to invite them back to active
participation!
We
are asking all the members of our community to think of the people you
know that you'd like to see
return to the Catholic Church. You can help them
find out about today's church
-- the church that can renew their lives in an
environment that is
compassionate and non-threatening. Reach
out and help us
to WELCOME HOME our brother
and sisters.
WELCOME
HOME MINISTRY -
meets the third Tuesday of the month at 7:30PM in the
parish library.
The
body is one and has many members, but
all the members, many though they are, are one body; and so it is with
Christ.
